Since its founding in 2013, Moomken has undergone continuous structural changes, which have contributed to enhancing its flexibility and institutional capacity. Enabling the organization to develop strategic policies that positioned it as one of the leading local organizations capable of operating at a national level, even under the most challenging circumstances.
With the accumulation of diverse experiences and expertise among its staff, Moomken has launched a range of initiatives and projects under its Capacity-Building Programs for Civil Society Organizations. These efforts aim to share the organization’s knowledge and experience with emerging CSOs, particularly among smaller or more fragile organizations, in an effort to help them become more effective and capable entities.
These initiatives are based on three key pillars:
- The first pillar focuses on developing the skills of CSO members in Libya and equipping them with the tools needed to design and implement impactful projects.
- The second pillar involves the organization’s efforts to improve the legal environment for CSO operations, by contributing to drafting proposed legislation to regulate civil society’s work.
- The third pillar aims to help improve organizations by providing tailored consultations and guidance for structural reforms, based on the specific needs of the organizations and associations involved in these initiatives.
