The Peacebuilding Program are designed to mend divides and restore trust between conflicting parties through a carefully structured methodology grounded in conflict analysis and the application of the Transformative Scenario Planning approach to achieve positive conflict transformation. The objectives of these various projects have centered on establishing sustainable communication mechanisms between parties, promoting a culture of community dialogue to resolve disputes, and leveraging the capacities of local groups including women, youth, and community leaders to support peace processes, prevent renewed violence, normalize relations, and create the conditions for the gradual return of displaced persons (where applicable) to their homes.
Through its many initiatives in this field, Moomken has demonstrated that bottom-up peacebuilding is the most resilient and sustainable path forward. Despite limited resources and the end of direct international support, the impact of these projects has continued to grow organically through the efforts of local communities, turning many stories of conflict into stories of coexistence and connection.
